The Disneyland Resort is the “Merriest Place on Earth” during the holiday season. We at The Walt Disney Family Museum would like to highlight some of the must see Disneyland attractions guests can still experience today that tie directly back to Walt Disney himself.

During November’s Open Studio, participants explored the process of inking and painting as it was done for hand-drawn animated films up until the early 1990s. Find out more about our drop-in program, how to ink & and paint your very own cel!

Museum Educator Hillary Lyden gives a voice to teachers and students on our museum blog, and has started this resource for both inspiration and career conversations in the fields of Imagineering, animation, and the arts.

In the spring of 2009, The Walt Disney Family Museum approached veteran filmmaker Don Hahn (whose credits include The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast) with a proposal to create a film that would celebrate the holidays through the eyes of Walt Disney. Under the direction of the Walt Disney Family Foundation, the genesis of this idea became Christmas with Walt, an enchanting fifty-one minute film exclusive to the Museum during the holiday season.

With the holidays quickly approaching, we are happy to have the Presidio Trust pen for us a little historical background on the ceremonial tree lighting, which has been a decades-old tradition here in our beautiful Presidio of San Francisco.

One hundred and eleven years ago on December 5, 1901, in the upper bedroom of Elias and Flora Disney's Tripp Avenue home in Chicago, Illinois, Walter Elias Disney was born.

It’s hard to be anything but inspired when looking at all of the incredible artwork and careful planning that went into making Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Education Department wanted to offer a special activity to celebrate the power of story with the classes who book school experiences.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Roger Broggie Jr., whose death was caused by a head injury sustained from a fall while working on a parade float in his Oregon hometown yesterday...

Among the personal family items on display at The Walt Disney Family Museum are two very special bracelets. One, the "Oscar Bracelet", and the second, the Cartier Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs bracelet...

Seventy-five years ago on this exact day, Walt Disney's first feature-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, premiered at Carthay Circle Theater on December 21, 1937.

This month’s Quintessential Classic takes a look at a Holiday Tradition that Walt Disney established during Disneyland’s first Christmas Celebration in 1955, participated in each year during his lifetime, and that continues to be a highlight of the Park’s holiday celebration today... The Disneyland Christmas Parade!
